Lionel Richie Upset Over Nicole Richie's 'Simple Life'

Nicole Richie seriously upset her adopted father Lionel Richie when she agreed to take part in the reality TV show ?The Simple Life? with her then best friend Paris Hilton.

Singer Richie was convinced that his daughter would make a laughing stock of his family with her TV show?he wasn?t really far wrong.

According to ContactMusic Richie said of his daughter?s TV career: "I was not thrilled. You wouldn't be able to print what my father said when I wanted to play in the Commodores and I said the same words to my daughter when she explained that she was going to ruin the family name with a TV show.

"There's Paris and Nicole in my living room talking about this wonderful reality TV they're going to make, and my stomach leaps out the window."
