American Idol's Mario Vasquez Readies Debut Album

American Idol season four contender Mario Vasquez is set to release his debut album this fall.

Vasquez will release the self titled record on September 26 and it includes collaborations with Scott Storch, Ne-Yo and Daddy Yankee.

Vasquez told Billboard: "It's everything I love - a bit of R&B, hip-hop, reggaeton and pop ballads. I feel like people know me as kind of a crooner (or_ a soft singer so I wanted to just remind them (of that). Ne-Yo wrote a beautiful song ? (he) gave me a golden ticket."

Vasquez is most notorious for mysteriously dropping out of American Idol before the final round despite being one of the favourites to win.

He added: . "With this record, I hope it answers people's questions of why I left, artistically."
