Madonna Imports 1,000 Pheasants Just To Shoot Them

Madonna has been severely criticized by animal welfare organizations for importing 1,000 baby pheasants from France just so she can shoot their brains out.

Madge imported the birds to her 1,200 acre Ashcombe House estate on the Wiltshire/Dorset border that is already home to 31,000 pheasants that were originally from Wales.

Although Madge and her director hubby Guy Ritchie have quit shooting birds on their estate it is still regarded as one of the best sites for shooting in the UK and they regularly allow their celebrity friends to kill there.

Animal Rights campaigners have slammed Madonna for her actions Andrew Tyler, director of Animal Aid said:  ?Shame on Madonna. She thinks that when she puts on her plus fours she is part of the landed gentry,"

?But this is not in harmony with nature. It is the production of factory birds to provide a live shooting gallery.?

A spokeswoman for Madonna said: ?Both Madonna and Guy have stopped shooting,"

"We can confirm that the estate got 1,000 birds from France as an experiment this year but we won?t be doing it again.?
