Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron is currently in talks to play the role of Marilyn Monroe.

Theron is the favourite to play the screen siren in Tom Hank?s film adaptation of Anthony Summer?s biographical novel, ?Goddess?.

Hank?s production company, Playtone films, are hoping to bring the legend of Monroe to a new audience.

According to ContactMusic, Theron who is a huge Monroe fan once considered purchasing Monroe?s Beverley Hills home?but didn?t.

Will Theron be able to pull off this role??? I ?m doubtful?she has made her name by playing dogs?what will happen if she tries to portray a goddess???

If MM were alive today, she would be looked down upon like a slut. She is the first original blode bimbo to start all the bleach chaos. Now we have a bunch of sluts trying to copy her image. Let this be a message. MM has had more dick than Paris Hilton. She slept with old men to get movie roles and a married former president. For heavens sakes. Stop all this obsessing on Marilyn Monroe that poor woman has endure so much heartache in her life does she need for people to act like fools trying to play her or act like her. Whew, how utterly ridiculous can you all be. You know how many times there have been things that were done including, tv movies on her.. That’s enough already.

Mrs. R., Marilyn is dead. I doubt if it matters to her who plays her in this film that will be made despite your protestations. You do have a point, but if Tom Hanks wants to make this film, I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen!

I think Charlize could play Marilyn well. She can do just about anything really. It’s an intelligent way to go w/this film.

You know what? You’re all just jealous! Charlize could play MM. So could Carla Orlandi, which by the way is also a filmmaker, not an impersonator or wannabe like all you envious freaks. I know the LADY, she is gracious, kind, beautiful, and ethereal. Not a fake like all you gal’s. Charlize too, she is gorgeous to say the least, and can carry a movie, look at her in Monster. So all you envious midgets shut the bleep up!
