Zayn Malik has revealed a new look at the One Direction album launch in Japan today. He’s ditched his trademark quiff for a choppy straight cut.
We have to say Zayn, we think it was a mistake.
The new look seems like a style step backwards, since the 20-year-old singer has come so far since One Direction formed.
The cartoonish, overly straightened hair came as a surprise to his fans after he arrived to the airport in beanie hat.
Since Zayn’s embraced the lego look we thought we’d take a moment to consider how he got here…
Back in 2010 a 17-year-old Zayn took to the stage at the X Factor with a short, flat style. The boys soon made it big and he got a new do to match their new found fame.
For 1D and Zayn’s hair, the only way was up!
His next look was an extreme short back and sides, with the rest swept straight up.
This style started to morph into the hair we’ve come to know him for: the quiff.
Self-confessed bad boy Zayn really started working with the quiff look this year and even added the bleached stripe at the front.
Quite the dividing addition, some called it the ‘skunk stripe’ others were loving the new look.
But now, now Zayn’s gone and chopped it off and given us the new, shaggy, hair do. Which was your top favourite of Zayn’s styles?
