Watch: The Hilarious Moment Sir Ian McKellen Encourages School Kids To Revise In The Style Of Gandalf

Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellen used his impressive characterisation skills to encourage a group of school children to revise for their exams yesterday (Oct. 17).

The actor warned the children of Chew Valley school in Bristol what could happen if they fail to prepare for their tests in the style of wizarding hero Gandalf.

Speaking a group of pupils from outside of a classroom window the star told them, “In your preparation for your examinations, if you don’t do your revision properly, YOU SHALL NOT PASS!”

McKellen, 75, was at the school to speak out against homophobia as part of his work with LGB charity, Stonewall.

Ian has given pupils some wise words (WENN)

“It is a day that they and I will never forget,” headteacher Mark Mallett said of the legendary actor’s visit. “Sir Ian was a gracious guest at the school and an impassioned evangelist for tolerance and equality. I can’t think of no better creed for our young people to take from their school careers into their lives as citizens as they go from here to contribute to the future of our society and country.”
