VIDEO: Taylor Swift ‘Shut The F**k Up’ Gaffe Was About Miley Cyrus Not Harry Styles, Says Ed Sheeran
It’s been a week since Taylor Swift was caught on camera saying “Shut the f**k up” while One Direction – and, more specifically, her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles – were on stage at the MTV VMAs, but Ed Sheeran seems to have explained that she was actually talking about Miley Cyrus.
Given that Swift, Sheeran and Styles were all spotted in one photo at an after-party, it seemed unlikely that the ‘I Thought You Were Trouble’ hitmaker would have been so mean about him in front of millions of viewers; and now we finally seem to have an answer.
Sheeran is seen (video below) at a press conference saying: “She rung me straight afterwards and said ‘I think I messed up’.
“Selena had said to her ‘I think Miley’s going to win’ and that’s what that was, so… That’s what that was.”
Whether or not this means Taylor isn’t a Miley fan or she was just being supportive of Selena (nominated in the same category) remains to be seen, but for now we can breathe a sigh of relief that she and Harry might be on good terms after all!
The talented songstress is thought to be in the studio working on the follow-up to her 2012 smash Red, which became her most successful era to date in the UK.
The VMAs are still providing plenty of talking points one week later, especially over Miley Cyrus’ provocative dance with a foam finger whilst duetting with Robin Thicke.
It’s all been so intense that we seem to have lost sight of the fact that *NSYNC reunited!
