VIDEO: ‘Sex Symbol Robert Pattinson’s In His Own League’: Eddie Redmayne Denies Heart Throb Rivalry

Eddie Redmayne has shot down his chances of becoming the next Robert Pattinson, when asked about his new heart-throb status claiming the ‘Twilight’ hunk is in “a league of his own.”

The ‘Les Miserables’ star is the actor de jour, starring in not only the Oscar-tipped film version of the stage show but also wowing on billboards across the world as the quintessential English gent for Brit brand Burberry alongside Cara Delevingne and Emma Watson. But does the Eton educated actor believe he’s a contender for Pattinson’s heart-throb status?

“No-one, no-one can compete with Rob,” he told EntertainmentWise at the Evening Standard Film Awards in London last night, “he’s in a league of his own.”

While he might not be at Pattinson’s level yet, Eddie is carving out his own role in Hollywood as the hottest actor of the moment, but when asked how he feels about all the female attention, the ‘My Week With Marilyn’ star was charmingly modest claiming fans would be “disappointed” by him.

“I’m not sure that’s true,” he claimed when asked about being a sex symbol, though admitted, “it’s very flattering.”

The 31 year-old added: “I’m sure everyone would be disappointed if they met me.”

Eddie missed out in the Best Actor category to Toby Jones for his turn in ‘Berberian Sound Studio’. He was nominated for his role in ‘Les Miserables’. We don’t care what you say Eddie you’re a heart-throb to us!
