Tina Fey Shoots Down Mean Girls Sequel Rumors

"Muppets Most Wanted" Los Angeles Premiere - Arrivals

Tina Fey has shot down recent rumors that there will be a Mean Girls sequel. The rumors all started when it was first reported that the cast of the film were set to get together in some way to celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary this year. However, Tina says they aren’t planning on making another film right now:

”[There’s] definitely not a movie. It’s just the anniversary is coming up, so everybody get your pink shirts. It’s been 10 years. You can tell when you look at me it’s been 10 years.”

Tina commented that she did talk to Lindsay Lohan about the subject and there has been a discussion about doing something to mark the cult hit film’s milestone birthday so the cast may get together to have a “panel discussion” to celebrate. Tina said about the reunion party:

”I said to her [Lindsay], ‘Oh, I think someone may call us about doing some kind of reunion because next month is the tenth anniversary of the movie.’ And so really… if everyone’s around we might try to do some kind of like panel discussion. But it’s not like – it’s not another movie. At most it would be like a panel discussion with a plate of hot wings.”
