The Evil Dead: Bruce Campbell Will Resurrect Ash Williams For A New Series

Bruce Campbell, star of the cult classic horror The Evil Dead will be reprising his role from the iconic zombie-fest for a brand new TV series. Resurrecting his lovable hero Ash Williams, the actor will star in a 10 part series heading to the network Starz titled Ash vs. Evil Dead which is expected to premiere in 2015.

While we initially remained skeptical over the project, with zombies more popular than ever thanks to the success of the Walking Dead, maybe we could be in for a treat? Sam Raimi, writer and director of the franchise has confirmed his involvement in the series. As well as penning the opening episode, Raimi will also serve as producer alongside main man Bruce.

Breaking the news, Raimi said in a statement: “Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, (producer) Rob (Tapert) and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.”
