‘The Bravest Thing I Think I’ve Ever Seen’: Sir Bob Geldof Praised For His Strength At Daughter Peaches’ Funeral

Peaches Geldof was laid to rest on Easter Monday following her tragic death on April 7 at just 25 with one mourner present admitting it had been an emotional day, especially to see the bravery of her family led by father Sir Bob Geldof who led the tributes to his daughter.

The mother of two’s heartbroken father, Sir Bob Geldof carried his daughter’s coffin down the church next to his home Davington, Priory where just 18 months ago he’d given the star away at her wedding to musician Thomas Cohen.

Record label boss Alan McGee, who was present at the ceremony admitted it was a “tragic,” scene and that he felt for Bob at that most difficult of moments.

He told the Mirror: “It was very heavy when I saw Bob help carry his daughter down through the chapel.

“It was incredibly tragic but I think he handled it as well as any man could.”

He went on: “The bravest thing I think I’ve ever seen him do is give the eulogy to his daughter who has died.”

Peaches passed away on April 7 at her home in Wrotham, Kent. She was pronounced dead by police after they were called to her home at around 1:30pm. The 25 year-old leaves behind sons Astala and Pheadra with husband Thomas Cohen.

She was mourned by sister Fifi, Pixie and Tiger-Lily at the funeral which took place at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church, where her mother, Paula Yates was also laid to rest in 2000.
