The Bachelor’s Juan Pablo Galavis In New Controversy Over Mental Handicap Joke
he Bachelor’s Juan Pablo Galavis is in the midst of another controversy after offending some of his Twitter followers with use of the word ‘retard’.
The former football player retweeted a text-based picture and then fiercely defended himself against the subsequent criticism.
The picture he shared said: “Not every flower can say love, but a rose can. Not every plant survives thirst, but a cactus can. Not every retard can read, but look at you go, little buddy!”

As with when he used “pervert” when reasoning against a gay season of The Bachelor, Galavis has blamed cultural differences.
He tweeted: “People, try to be HAPPY and enjoy JOKES and SARCASM…
“In Venezuela the R word is USED commonly and by NO means is to OFFEND anyone… #Relax #DifferentCulture #Respect”.
He added: “Some people need to TRAVEL and get around the WORLD… The US is a GREAT country but there is a LOT out there… #openyourmind #learnculture”.
He has, however, since deleted the retweet in question. Who’s he going to offend next?
