Susan Sarandon Admits Getting ‘Stoned Before Most Awards Ceremonies’
Susan Sarandon has always had an unorthodox approach to her Hollywood life, but her admission of frequently enjoying a pre-awards joint still came as quite a shock.
The Thelma and Louise star spoke candidly on her use of marijuana on Watch What Happens Live Wednesday, admitting that she prepares herself for the usually dreary bout of awards ceremonies by getting high in advance.

Asked by host Andy Cohen to name one Hollywood event in which she arrived on the red carpet high, the Hollywood legend coyly answered “only one”, before breaking into laughter and confessing: “I would say almost all except the Oscars.”
The 67-year actress also discussed turning down Playboy magazine, remarkably admitting the famous men’s magazine were still eager to get her to pose up to five years ago when she would have been 62.
Quizzed on her Hollywood conquests, Susan kept tight-lipped only divulging her bedroom secrets would be revealed in her new book. “My book is gonna be all the people I could’ve and didn’t,” she said.
In October, the actress revealed that she was subjected to a “disgusting” sexual encounter in her 20s while attending a casting.
“It was not successful – for either of us,” Sarandon told Elle magazine, when asked if she had ever had a casting-couch experience.
“I just went into a room, and a guy practically threw me on the desk. It was my early days in New York, and it was really disgusting. It wasn’t like I gave it a second thought, it was so badly done.”
