Summer In The City 2015: Zoella, Alfie, Tanya Burr & More YouTube Vloggers Pull Out!

Summer In The City 2015 promised to be a highlight for many fans of YouTube vloggers, but it just got that little bit less exciting as Zoella, Alfie Deyes aka Pointless Blog, Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman, are among those who have announced they will not be attending this year’s event.

With tickets set to go on sale in a week’s time, a whole group of the country’s most popular YouTube stars shared the surprising news that they will not be part of this year’s SITC, which brings together the UK’s hottest vloggers so their fans can interact with them and meet other subscribers in one place. Alfie Deyes told his Twitter followers this weekend: “Guys I won’t be attending SummerInTheCity this year, but don’t you worry! @AmityFest have got something BIG coming soon and I’m so excited x.”

Beauty blogger Tanya Burr warned: “Just putting it out there that I can’t make Summer In The City this year guys. Wanted to let you know early incase you were buying tickets x,” while her fiancé Jim Chapman added: “Yo! Just so you know, I won’t be at SiTC this year. We have exciting plans for @AmityFest instead. Watch this space!”

Caspar Lee tweeted: “No SITC for me this year. Sorry if this sounds like bad news. I promise to make it up to you,” as did Sprinkle of Glitter aka Louise: “Lovely Sprinklerinos, I won’t be attending SITC this year buuuutt @AmityFest have something v.v.v exciting planned for you! YAY! #AmityFest.”

Arguably, the majority were most likely hoping to see Zoella at the fest but she won’t be heading down either, telling her devoted followers: “Like lots of my friendings, I won’t be attending SITC this year as we are all planning something special for you #GETEXCITED #AmityFest.” Her younger brother Joe Sugg added: “Ello just to make it clear early doors, I won’t be making it to sitc either because we’re working on our own lil’ summin summin for summer. Just wanted to let you know SOONER rather than later.”

Don’t worry though because there will be a chance to see the vloggers on stage this summer as they’re planning another round of Amityfest, which proved to be a huge hit last autumn. The group told their fans from Amityfest’s Twitter account: “We are so excited for our future plans and to meet sooooooo many of you guys! Autumn’s Amity was such a hit, we know this will smash it too!”

How exciting! It’s still a win for you guys, right?!
