There’s nothing quite like settling down on the sofa with a snack in hand to binge-watch a series of your choice, is there? In fact, given the rise of on-demand streaming services, it’s a go-to option for most people when they’re having a relaxing day indoors or chilling out in the evening. Of course, watching films appeals also, but many iconic television shows from over the years tend to entice fans in just as much.

Television shows have dramatically improved in recent times in particular, with many big productions operating on larger budgets and enticing world-famous Hollywood stars. As a result, over the last 20 years or so, viewing audiences have been treated to an extensive selection of memorable television shows that will potentially go down in history as some of the greatest creations ever made. From comedies to action thrillers to adventure fantasy classics, there have been an array of superb options from a selection of different genres in recent times. We can’t cover them all, but let’s take a look at some of the most streamable television shows ever made.

Friends

Given its humongous global following, it’s impossible to leave Friends out. The American sitcom television series was simple but mightily effective. Following six friends’ story as they live out their lives in Manhattan, New York City, the show won countless industry awards after creating millions of laughs along the way. The show’s ten successful seasons are adored by millions.

The Walking Dead

Anyone for some zombie-filled action? Well, that’s exactly what The Walking Dead offers. The American post-apocalyptic horror television series focuses on survival and, more specifically, how a travelling group adjusts to surroundings that are filled with hair-raising zombies. Over time, the group adapt, but there were a number of challenges to overcome.

Game of Thrones

Many peoples’ favourite ever fantasy drama series, Game of Thrones is easily one of the greatest shows ever made. The show was so impactful that it generated massive worldwide debate around certain storylines. There even was a Game of Thrones 243 Ways game, that’s featured alongside a whole host of other television-themed slots. Game of Thrones is hard to ignore, though, with the series receiving numerous plaudits over the years, especially its 58 Primetime Emmy Awards – the most by any drama series ever.

Breaking Bad

Following the life of Walter White, a disillusioned and depressed chemistry teacher who somehow manages to become a methamphetamine drug dealer as he aims to earn big bucks for his family after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Breaking Bad is a true classic. The show won numerous awards and is many people’s all-time favourite.

Only Fools And Horses

A much-loved show from the UK, Only Fools And Horses debuted in 1981 and went on to become one of the most adored television shows in the country, while also winning over audiences in America, Australia and New Zealand. Following the story of the Trotters from south-east London, a family made up of market traders, it’s a hilarious watch as they attempt to earn some money and make an occasionally dishonest living.

The Sopranos

A favourite show for so many, The Sopranos is truly iconic. The American crime drama television series features the story of Tony Soprano, a hilarious mobster who is aiming to maintain regular family living while conducting business in his criminal world. The show ran for six seasons and won a number of massive awards, including 21 Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes.
