She’s Back: Pixie Lott Storms To Top Of Twitter Trends With Sensational Avicii Cover (WATCH)

Her music activity has been somewhat quiet for the last couple of years, but Pixie Lott thundered back into action tonight with a version of Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’ that fans have hailed as “perfect”.

Pixie first gathered a huge fanbase back in 2009 with a string of popular covers, most notably of Kings Of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’, which has racked up more than 20 million views.

Now, she’s turned her attention to the fastest-selling single of the year, turning it on its head for a pitch-perfect stripped-back version, recorded live at The Pool.

Watch it below.

Anticipation for the cover sent the hashtag #pixieatthepool soaring to the top of the United Kingdom’s top trending topics, making for one excited Pixie. “agagaga fab to see #pixieatthepool  trending!” she tweeted.

The Essex-born blonde bombshell is currently gearing up to release her third studio album; the follow-up to the double-platinum selling Turn It Up and 2011’s Young Foolish Happy.

She’s scored three chart-toppers in her time – ‘Mama Do’, ‘Boys And Girls’ and ‘All About Tonight’. She’s also collaborated with Pusha T and Jason Derulo, and written a song for US sensation Selena Gomez for her 2011 collection When The Sun Goes Down.

Pix has also made a name for herself as something of a style fave, and was recently seen stealing the show at Ascot and changing in and out of a brunette wig at London Fashion Week.
