R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Ariana Grande Star-Struck After Meeting Aretha Franklin At White House
Ariana Grande experienced what it’s like for her fans last night when she performed at the White House alongside musical greats such as Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and modern favourites like Janelle Monae, describing it as a “night to remember.”
The ‘Tattooed Heart’ singer was invited to the White House last night by President Barack Obama and the First Lady to celebrate the history of soul with performances from legends and rising stars.

With the likes of Aretha and Patti gracing the stage, it’s clear Ariana was in awe of sharing the spotlight with such legends and couldn’t stop gushing on Twitter.
“A night I’ll never forget,” Ariana declared before later adding: “It was an honor @JanelleMonae @metheridge @MsPattiPatti @missjillscott @Tessanne @ArethaFranklin.”
Ariana later simply added of rock singer Melissa Etheridge: “You are incredible.”

It appears the Sam & Cat star particularly struck up a bond with ‘Lady Marmalade’ icon Patti, 69, who told the youngster: “I love you back Baby Girl and keep doing what you’re doing because you’re fierce! XOXO!”
The 20-year-old replied: “There is nobody out there like you.”
After Janelle Monae mused: “I learned a lot tonight. So full & thankful,” Ariana agreed, tweeting in tribute to the legendary singers: “Me too. we had some pretty incredible teachers tonight.”
Even Ariana’s brother Frankie got in on the action and tweeted Janelle: “You are a DIVA! Thank you for bringing such joy to the stage and to this world. You are PHENOMENAL,” to which she replied: “Awwww love to you my darling!!!! Thank you!”
Although he made sure to credit his big sister, later writing: “But the night belonged to Ariana.”

Ariana’s manager Scooter Braun didn’t attend the White House do but heard through the grapevine that his artist impressed the POTUS and FLOTUS: “@ArianaGrande so I heard from numerous people you just Killed It for @BarackObama! You had aunt patti throwing her fan!! Amazing! Congrats.”
Perhaps Ariana was taking note for her upcoming second album which she is currently recording and is expected to feature a collaboration with none other than Chris Brown.
The pair have been teasing the duet over the last few weeks and it’s set to premiere at some point this month.
