PHOTOS: Mr Darcy Is Back As Filming Starts For Period Drama Death Comes To Pemberley

Filming has started in York, with Matthew Rhys and Matthew Goode being spotted on set of the new period drama, Death Comes To Pemberley.

The stars of the sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice have begun filming for the new BBC drama as the streets of York were transformed into a bygone era.

Based on the novel by P. D. James we see what happened after Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet had their happy ending.

Set six years later we join Elizabeth and Darcy along with their two sons as they prepare for a ball in their home, but all is not what it seems as the characters are thrown into turmoil as the story of a murder unfolds.

It has been confirmed that Doctor Who actress Jenna- Louise Coleman will be joining the cast as Elizabeth Bennet’s sister Lydia Wickham.

Alongside her Matthew Goode will play her husband George, with Matthew Rhys taking on the role of Mr Darcy.

The drama will be shown as a three-part series and filming has already begun in York.
