One Direction & 5 Seconds Of Summer Dissed By Emerging Boyband Midnight Red

Midnight Red seemingly took swipes at both 5 Seconds Of Summer and One Direction in a tweet that has since been deleted.

The American boyband hinted on the social networking site that they were pleased to be making waves without either coming from a reality TV show (1D) or supporting the world’s biggest pop act (5SOS).

The ‘She Looks So Perfect’ chart-toppers did, of course, turn a fair few heads last year when they opened for Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan on their Take Me Home tour.

However, Midnight Red are also no strangers to being on the road with an established artist- as they opened for the NKOTBSB shows in 2011, and kicked off support slots for The Wanted from earlier this month.

According to Sugarscape, 5SOS’s Ashton Irwin replied to Midnight Red’s tweet with a simple smiling turd emoji; however both posts have since been removed.

The Australian act are currently enjoying breakthroughs all over the world, and became the first boyband since One Direction to score a No1 single in the UK earlier this month.

Looks like Midnight Red didn’t buy a copy, though…
