Miranda Kerr Suffered Post-Divorce Depression

She may be known for her positive personality, but Miranda Kerr reveals that following her break-up she suffered from a spell of depression and was shocked because she has never experienced something like that before:

“When Orlando and I separated, I actually fell into a really bad depression. I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person. Every thought you have affects your reality and only you have control of your mind.”

Reaffirming that she’s in a happier place now, Miranda says she has always been generally a positive person:

“(I was) born a naturally positive person. My mom used to call me a ‘giggling Gert’ because I was always laughing, even in my sleep.”

She has learnt how to co-parent with Orlando and makes sure every moment with her son is used well. She coordinates her life so that she is always there to be a mom whenever her son is spending time with her:

“The most important thing is that when (her son Flynn) has his time with me, we have quality time together, and when he’s with his dad, he has quality time with him. And it works out really well because I book in my photo shoots for the time he’s with his dad, and the rest of the time I just get to be a mom.”

Not much of a party animal, Miranda says enjoying time at home is her biggest luxury:

“Being with my family, reading to Flynn, playing with him. We draw together; we build blocks together. I also love swinging on swings. I’m a homebody. Being at home is the biggest luxury to me. I can’t help it!”
