Miley Cyrus Should ‘Relax’ Her ‘Drastic’ Antics, Says Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton has called for Miley Cyrus to scale back on her “drastic” antics and let her music do the talking.

The star has had an attention-grabbing twelve months with a string of provocative performances, music videos and outfits giving her endless amounts of column inches.

However, Parton – who is her godmother – reckons now is the time for her to start to “relax”.

“If I didn’t know how smart and talented Miley is, I might worry about her,” she said in a piece for TIME.

“She was very proud of the work she did as Hannah Montana, but people were gonna leave her there forever.

“And she was just smotherin’ and chokin’ in it. So she felt she had to do something completely drastic.”

She went on: “‘Wrecking Ball’ is a great song. The whole album is great. So I’m hoping that now she can relax and show people how talented she really is.

“‘Cos the girl can write. The girl can sing. The girl is smart. And she doesn’t have to be so drastic.”

Cyrus was reportedly discharged from hospital yesterday (April 24) after being admitted for an allergic reaction to antibiotics. Her Bangerz tour will resume in Amsterdam on May 2.
