Miley Cyrus Says She’s Happy to be Alone But Wouldn’t Change Engagement
Miley Cyrus has twerked herself to exhaustion this year but according to the singer, her signature attention-seeking antics aren’t her biggest achievement this year (shock!). She admits that she is most happiest about mastering her fear of being alone and learning how to become independent after her relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth ended. The singer admits she was at first “so scared” of being single but she has really grown as a person and is proud of the progress she has made in the last year:
“I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had this entire year. I don’t ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like without them you can’t be yourself.”
Miley was only 19-years-old when Liam popped the question and although their relationship didn’t last the test of time, she is still happy that they got engaged but she still has more to learn about life and she didn’t realize it at the time. She says she is currently very happy on her own now and is content with it that way:
“I don’t think I realized what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn’t change being engaged, it was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years,” Cyrus said, “But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I’m just at my house, by myself.”
