Michael Douglas Remains “Hopeful” About Saving His Marriage

Despite currently being on a break from wife Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas says he remains hopeful that the couple will work things out. He admits that they’ve got issues with their relationship but he believes they can sort through their problems and he hopes they won’t ended up divorcing in the near future. Michael says they’re still speaking and he remains positive:

“Catherine is great. She is doing wonderful, talked to her today [and] just got a lovely note from her. I’m very hopeful that we’re going to work things out. As I said we’re just taking a break, a couple of issues, sometimes you gotta do that.”

In career news, Michael recently picked up an award for Best Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie Award for HBO’s ‘Behind The Candelabra’  at the 2013 Emmys. When he accepted the award, he specifically thanked his wife Catherine and the two children they have together. He also noted his eldest son Cameron, who is currently in prison:

”I want to thank my wife Catherine for her support, my kids Dylan and Carys, and a shout out for my oldest son Cameron and hoping that they’ll allow me to see him soon.”
