Matthew McConaughey ‘Almost Lost Eyesight After Starving Himself For AIDS Patient Movie Role’

Matthew McConaughey shocked us all when he showed off his super skinny frame last year, but according to sources, the Hollywood actor may have taken his weight loss a little too far as Matthew ‘very nearly lost his sight’ after the whole thing.

The star played an AIDS patient in upcoming film Dallas Buyers Club, but it seems like Matthew may have gone a little too far for a movie role, according to insiders.

A source close to the actor tells In Touch: “Matthew lost nearly 50 pounds and toward the end he started to lose his eyesight,” while playing the patient in the movie due out later this year.

The insider continues to say that Matthew immediately consulted doctors, “who confirmed that when you starve yourself you begin to lose your vision.”

Thankfully, it wasn’t permanent, the insider tells the publication: “They monitored him, and things are back to normal now.”

The actor’s rep has since told EntertainmentWise that there is ‘no truth’ to the claims.

Meanwhile, the A-Lister was also confirmed last month as the lead in Christopher Nolan’s new movie Interstellar.

The flick is inspired by physicist and relativity expert Kip S Thorne’s theory of time travel and wormholes, and will reportedly depict: “a heroic voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding.”

When asked about whether he would be doing the movie by Star Tribune he said: “I’m Confirming”.

The film is to be scripted by Christopher’s brother Jonathan, however Chris has reportedly done a rewrite himself, with it being produced by Christopher, Lynda Obst and Steven Spielberg.

Exciting stuff!
