Margot Robbie Worried About Nudity in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’

19th Annual Critics' Choice Awards - Arrivals

Australian actress Margot Robbie, who stars in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’, admits she was worried about the nudity content in the film. She thought about it at length because she knew her nudity wouldn’t just be in the film, but also posted around the internet for everyone she knows to see. She commented:

”[Nudity is] different in this day and age, because of the internet. It was like, if I do this there will forever be YouTube clips of this, there will be slow-motion versions. It’s not just the repercussions for myself – my brothers and my grandparents have to deal with that. So it’s not something to be taken lightly.”

Margot says she doesn’t often see the point in nudity being included in films and wouldn’t agree to strip off unless she felt it had a good reason to be a part of the film. She commented that unless it’s totally justified, she won’t do it:

”There are scripts I pick up and say, ‘There’s no reason why she’s taking her clothes off, that’s just stupid, it’s just nudity for the sake of nudity.’ That I do not agree with, ever. But when the nudity is warranted, I don’t think there’s anything shameful in that. If it’s justified and the character would do it, then it should be there.”

She also adds that while she never crushed on Leonardo DiCaprio growing up, she did have a strange obsession with the Titanic:

”I was absolutely obsessed with the ‘Titanic’ – not the film, the actual boat. I’d draw diagrams about it and theorise that if it was built in a different way, it wouldn’t have sunk.”
