Doctor Who is set for its biggest launch ever on a promotional tour which will see the Doctor’s latest carnation, Peter Capaldi along with Jenna Coleman and writer Steven Moffat travel the four corners of the globe for Doctor Who: The World Tour.

The extensive tour, the time lord’s greatest yet, will kick off in the UK on August 7 before wrapping up in Brazil on August 19.

The gang will hit seven cities across five continents in just 12 days meeting thousands of fans and giving dozens of huge media interviews.

In an official statement from the Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi revealed: “It’s fantastic that so many people across the world love Doctor Who. After eight months solid filming deep in the world of monsters, Jenna and I are thrilled to be heading for the Planet of Fans.”

Moffat chipped in, adding: “I’ve always thought we’d all be a lot safer if the Doctor conquered the world, instead of the Daleks.

“Now with Jenna and Peter leading the charge, it looks like it’s going to happen. I’ll be bringing up the rear to handle the exposition scenes, and maybe carry some bags.”

Peter, Steven and Jenna will head to Cardiff and London while in the UK before jetting off to Seoul, South Korea; Sydney, Australia; New York USA; Mexico City, Mexico before the tour comes to a close in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Peter Capaldi’s debut series as Doctor Who airs in the UK this August on BBC One.
