Leonardo DiCaprio on Oscars, Babies and Picking Darker Roles

Leo is nominated for his role in The Revenant and he admits he is interested in taking home the Oscar but he realises it is out of his hands at this point and it’s up to people he can’t influence:

“Sure, everyone likes to be recognized, but that’s out of my hands—other people control those things. I will say it would help the film, bring it to more people.”

Leo is known for his string of Victoria’s Secret girlfriends and he has yet to settle down – when asked about the possibility of having children, Leo says that it could happen but he’s not rushing anything:

“Do you mean do I want to bring children into a world like this? If it happens, it happens. I’d prefer not to get into specifics about it, just because then it becomes something that is misquoted. But yeah. I don’t know. To articulate how I feel about it is just gonna be misunderstood.”

The actor adds that he wants to go even darker for his next role and is hoping to find something that he can give his all:

“I would love to do something even darker [than The Revenant]. I don’t know, like how would you penetrate the mind of somebody like Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver? There’s a word in German … schadenfreude. It means humiliation for somebody else, and it can be done in movies, like when Bickle takes [Cybill Shepherd] to the porno theater for his first date. You’re like, ‘Oh, God, please don’t do this!’”
