Lady Gaga Promises To ‘Expertly Care’ For Michael Jackson’s Iconic Gloves

Lady Gaga may be a mega star, but even superstars have their own idols, as was the case when Lady Gaga snapped up 55 items belonging to the late singer Michael Jackson.

According to the Washington Post, the ‘Born This Way’ singer purchased a slew of memorabillia belonging to The King of Pop during an auction which took place in Los Angeles yesterday at Julien’s Auction.

Jumping on Twitter to confirm her purchase and to ensure MJ fans that the star’s belongings would be cared for, Gaga wrote: “The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared for in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & fans worldwide.”

The star also uploaded an image of herself donning one side of the famous pair of diamond-studded gloves.

The auction is believed to have raised over $5 million in sales, with some of the most sough-after pieces including the jacket the ‘Billie Jean’ singer wore during his Bad world tour, selling for £149,000 and two of the star’s crystal-encrusted gloves, which went for £62,000 each.

Part of the proceeds from the auction went to Guide Dogs of America and the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
