Kristen Stewart on Her Tough Prison Transformation for ‘Camp X-Ray’
Keen to shake off her most well known role as Bella Swan in the ‘Twilight’ series, Kristen Stewart has decided to try a risky new role as a prison officer at Guantanamo Bay in ‘Camp X-Ray’. In the role, Kristen is not her usual hair-flipping, vampire-loving self – she’s transformed in to a legitimate looking tough prison officer and people are already impressed with her transformation after some stills of the film were released. Kristen commented on the dramatic change, stating that she was worried at first that people wouldn’t find her believable:
”I was so nervous when I first started working and preparing because I didn’t think that people would believe me or think that I looked tough in a uniform, that I could do that job, that I could wrangle detainees that are massive and scary.”
Befriending her co-stars Ser’Darius Blain, Joseph Julian Soria and Lane Garrison, Kristen has been challenging them to bowling matches on set, albeit rather unsuccessfully. Sadly, Kristen admits she isn’t much of a bowler:
”I cannot bowl, and it really is very frustrating. I’m awful, and it sucks because I’m really kind of good at everything.”
Lane revealed that they also built a golf range on set and Kristen made up for her poor bowling skills by showing off her talent on the newly constructed driving range:
”We built a driving range in the prison and I brought like 400 golf balls. We would go out there and hit about 100 golf balls. She has an amazing swing.”
