Kris Humphries ‘Prepared To Miss NBA Playoffs To Battle Kim Kardashian In Divorce Trial’
Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian are gearing up for their divorce battle as it was confirmed this week that a court date had finally been set, but will basketball player Kris miss crucial games in order to go to trial?
On Friday, a date was set for May 6 for the long awaited trial to begin which could last up to five days. Kris had attempted to push back the trial, with his attorney Marshall Waller requesting a delay until after the basketball season is finished.
A judge has reportedly refused to delay the case though because police officers, firefighters and other professions have to miss work for their trials so professional basketball player Humphries will have to do the same if necessary. Kim has wanted to head to trial for a divorce since the split in October 2011 but Kris has petitioned for an annulment on the grounds she allegedly defrauded him.
Now it’s emerged that NBA player Kris is so determined to fight it out with his ex in court that he is prepared to miss crucial games for his team the Brooklyn Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets are on track to land a place in the 2013 Playoffs, the end zone for the NBA season. The Playoffs take place from April 20 to June 20 meaning it’s more than likely at least one of the games will clash with the trial, which could last up to 5 days.
Kris could attempt to settle with Kim before the trial but judging by their acrimonious split it seems unlikely that a resolution could be met. Failing that Kris would have to choose between playing for his team or go to trial and let his team-mates down, as well as risking his two-year, $24 million contract.
According to sources speaking to TMZ though Kris has already made up his mind and is determined to face Kim in court. Right decision? We’ll have to wait until May to watch this one unfold…
