Kim Kardashian Rejects Being a Feminist: “I Don’t Think That I Am”

Kim says she is frequently asked if she is a feminist but doesn’t want to use the label for herself. The reality star explains that she just does what she’s comfortable with and is all about female support. She explains that she just wants women to do what makes them happy and feels good:

“Everyone always says, are you a feminist? I don’t think that I am. I don’t like labels. I do what makes me happy and I want women to be confident. I am so supportive of women. I love nothing more than when I’m with all my friends and I love to support women but I’m not a ‘free the nipple-type” of girl. If you’re not comfortable with that, don’t do it! I’m not about the labels. Just be you and be confident in you.”

She believes she has learnt to be more private behind closed doors thanks to her husband Kanye who prefers to keep some things away from the public eye. She thinks that she now has a more balanced approach and saves some of her home life just for her family:

“We do have a really private relationship. He’s very private even though he’s in the business and I’m very open, so he’s really taught me how to become a little bit more private and I’ve taught him about how to be a little bit more open. It really works for us. So I definitely save that part of my home life and my life with my kids I try to hold on to.”

She sees people underestimate her just because she’s not on a stage the whole time and they don’t understand how she got to be where she is:

“If I don’t sing and I don’t dance but still doing what I’m doing, how easy is my job? I don’t have to do any of that. I don’t have to be on stage like you working so hard but we’re still driving the same car! We’re still living the same life! I don’t mind getting underestimated but I feel for people that, I understand how it could bother them if they were in the same situation… I just love to prove people wrong.”
