Kelsey Grammer’s Daughter Greer Chosen To Be Miss Golden Globe For 2015
Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be joined on stage by another gal at the 2015 Golden Globes! Greer Grammer, daughter of Golden Globes award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer and Barrie Buckner, will serve as the event’s Miss Golden Globe, it was announced at press conference on Thursday. Greer, an actress best known for appearing on the TV show Awkward, will assist during the Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
While being named Miss Golden Globe is quite an honor, it certainly is not Greer’s first title. The 22-year-old served as Miss Teen Malibu in both 2008 and 2009, and was Miss Regional California Teen USA in 2011.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Greer talked about how excited she and her family are that she was given the honor.
“[My dad] is so proud,” she said. “He’s just happy to see me on stage. He can’t wait. He was just over the moon and proud and happy!”
The actress said she’s excited for the big night, but is worried about doing a good job.
“I’m most nervous about tripping with a Golden Globe, as I’m presenting it to somebody,” she said. “That’s awful! So that’s what I’m most scared about, walking up and tripping on my dress.”
Each year the title of Miss Golden Globe is given to the child of a celebrity by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Last year, Sosie Bacon, the daughter of actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, had the honor. Other notable celeb kids that have been given the title include Rumer Willis (2008), Joely Fisher (1992) and Melanie Griffith (1975). Although the celeb kid chosen is usually female, there have been years were the role was given to a male. Freddie Prince, Jr. and John Clark Gable are two men that have served as Mr. Golden Globe.
The 2015 Golden Globe Awards will air on January 11.
