Kelly Clarkson will perform the US National Anthem at the Superbowl, it has been reported.

The star will perform ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ at the major sporting event on February 5, and though NFL have yet to officially confirm the news, Clarkson has taken to Twitter to retweet an article reporting her appearance.

The Voice coach Blake Shelton will team up with wife Miranda Lambert to sing ‘America The Beautiful’, whilst Madonna will perform a highly-anticipated set, which is expected to include her new single ‘Gimme All Your Luvin”.

Previous high-profile singers who have performed the National Anthem at the Superbowl inclue Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Demi Lovato and Christina Aguilera.

Aguilera caused a stir last year when she famously fluffed the lines.

Clarkson will release her new single ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ later this month. The song is already set to enter the Top 40, according to yesterday’s midweek chart update.
