Kate Middleton’s Fave Brand Issa Steals Day 2 Of London Fashion Week With Tropical Hues
One of the most highly anticipated shows of Day 2 of London Fashion Week was always going to be one of Kate Middleton’s fave brands Issa, who shot to fame when the DOC wore her navy wrap dress to her engagement ceremony.
So this Spring/Summer 2012 show could be a possible insight into Kate’s brighter and bolder future wardrobe as the brand went brazen with their choice of colours and prints.
And they couldn’t have gone too wrong with handpicking some of the world’s biggest ‘It Girl’ models of the moment, Cara Delevigne and Jourdan Dunn, styled out in their usual host of luxe jersey dresses with a more vibrant theme of tropical prints and maxi frocks. Could the Duchess be in for a boho 2013 summer wardrobe?
The exquisite catwalk show opened up with a bucket full of colours, showcasing a host of eye popping lavish tropical floral printed ensembles which couldn’t be further from Kate’s usual shrinking violet style.
The British brand welcomed an insight into their more playful side with rainforest green tones and toucan prints, and along with the gem hues, the new collection embraced every inch of Spring Summer fashion, going all out with crisp white maxi’s, with flashes of colour and oversized floral detailing through the skirts.
The brand’s designer, Daniella Helayel, describes the new collection as: “The spring/summer 2013 prints are inspired by the Garden of Eden, Noah’s Ark, vibrant underwater corals, passion and seduction.’’
‘’We started with our main theme and created mood and print boards of flowers, exotic plants, the sea, skies and corals,’’ she adds.
But even though Issa embraced exotic hues and cuts, the classic Brit style shone through with its elegant lines in the high volume flowing maxis, draped kimonos and form-fitting jersey dresses, keeping their trademark details intact.
The make-up consisted of summer ready natural, fresh skin, keeping focus on the lined eyes and bright glossy lips, with the hair stealing the limelight with slick voluminous stylizing, accessorized with orchid head pieces to keep up the tropical vibe.
Glamour model Kelly Brook graced the front row along with her rugby playing beau Thom Evans in a pretty powder pink and white printed minidress teamed with black lace ankle boots, her luscious locks curled in a glossy style around her shoulders.
