Kate Middleton And Prince William’s Royal Tour: All The Details Of Their Trip To Australia And New Zealand
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be embarking on their third royal tour in April this year when they visit Australia and New Zealand. Kate and Wills have previously visited Canada and California in 2011 and South East Asia in September 2012, but this tour is set to be the most high-profile thanks to the addition of Prince George.
The seven month old is expected to join his parents on his first official overseas trip, with the potential of seeing Kate and Wills in a relaxed fashion with the tot, in the same way Charles and Diana were during their tour in 1984, interest is higher than ever.
As with other tours it will be a mixture of state occasions, with visits to cultural landmarks and also those of special interest to the couple. In South East Asia, Kate Middleton spent some time at a Children’s Hospice, a cause known to be close to her heart as Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Prince William is expected to re-visit some of the flooded areas in Australia that he spent time at in 2011 as well as in Christchurch in New Zealand. He visited the city following an earthquake the same year caused the death of 185 people.

The visit is seen as an important one for Australian/Royal relations. Kate and Wills have given the royal a boost of popularity in the country and as the future king and queen of the commonwealth, it will be a closely scrutinised visit.
Speaking last week to the Sydney Morning Herald incoming governor-general Peter Cosgrove claimed Australia was pretty excited about the arrival of the royals.
“There may have been a period where people thought that Australia’s attention was wavering, but when the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visit and when Her Majesty visits,” he explained, “and when the young Princes visit… the country comes alive… There’s a buzz in the air.
“And I think when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge come in April, Australia will roll out the welcome mat,” he added.
