Jennifer Lopez Dishes On Her Divorce During Interview With Matt Lauer

We all know by now Matt Lauer is not afraid to ask the tough questions when he’s interviewing the celebs on the Today show, and when he interviewed Jennifer Lopez this morning it was no different. He asked her about her divorce and she totally opened up which I was glad to see.

“Marc and I were friends before we got married. We were friends for years. And we always loved each other, and we always worked together,” she explained to Lauer. “So it wasn’t like an unnatural thing to keep working together.”

Lopez is working on the show Q’Viva! The Chosen with her ex and the two share twins Max and Emme.

“Obviously, we have children together so it’s not like he’s not going to be in my life,” she added.

When Lauer told her this was the “adult approach” she did admit things weren’t always as easy as she would like them to be:

“I’m not going to sit here and lie to you about it,” she noted. “But at the end of the day there is real love there, and there is a family there.”

And finally he got her a little riled up when he asked her about the Vanity Fair interview she did where she talked about loving herself enough to walk away from her marriage:

“Matt, I’m going to kill you right now,” she quipped, but noted firmly, “Everything I wanted to say about the divorce I said in that  article, and Marc and I agreed we weren’t going to talk about it  publicly again because it really is our personal life.”

I have to admit I love watching Lauer’s interviews, he asks the questions no one else has the guts to. I have to also give Lopez credit for not losing it totally.
