Jennifer Lawrence Says She Doesn’t Want Famous Friends

‘Hunger Games’ actress Jennifer Lawrence (who recently debuted a new pixie haircut, above) has commented on having famous friends. She admits that she would rather hang out with people who aren’t famous. She prefers to be with close friends and family members who she can trust and knows well. She doesn’t feel famous and having these people close to her gives her balance:

“I think I’m just more comfortable with people who know me, like my close friends and family. I don’t ever walk around feeling famous — I walk around feeling the same way I have for my entire life. So it’s only when I talk to somebody and see it in their eyes that I feel different. I go to parties with my friends, where everything is normal. It takes me time to get comfortable with strangers.”

Speaking on having to live on set, away from her friends and family, Jennifer admits that you have to have a long-distance relationship with everyone you love. She candidly says that it often gets lonely:

“There are obviously sacrifices with any job, but with this particular one, you’re in a long-distance relationship with pretty much everybody in your life — your family, your friends. It’s kind of hard to keep things consistent; you make your home wherever you’re going. It’s very hard sometimes, it’s a very lonely life, but at the same time the film crew becomes your family.”

Commenting on who she looks up to, Jennifer says Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep are both big influences on her:

“I don’t know if I’d necessarily call her an idol or a role model, but someone I admire, who’s an incredible actress, is Cate Blanchett. I think she’s extraordinary. Meryl Streep as well, not just because of her acting but because she’s Meryl Streep and I’d like to live my life the way she has lived hers. The way she went away with her kids, we never saw pictures of her babies. Irespect that a lot. And it’s not like I’m that way, because generally I want to do tons of things. I want to produce, I want to do this or that and have a heart attackat 25. But she’s only an actress and I like that.”
