Jennifer Lawrence: “I am Lonely Every Saturday Night. Guys Are so Mean to Me”

Jennifer Lawrence is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but she revealed she struggles to get a date in an interview with Vogue. She says men are often “mean” to her and she ends up feeling lonely, so she’s looking for someone who has never heard of her:

“I am lonely every Saturday night. Guys are so mean to me. I feel like I need to meet a guy, with all due respect, who has been living in Baghdad for five years who has no idea who I am.”

The actress, who has been linked to Chris Martin and also previously dated , says her comments shouldn’t be taken too seriously and when she called out men for their mean behaviour, she was going through a nasty split (reportedly from Chris). She explained:

“I’m never doing an interview during a breakup ever again!…I think what I was trying to get across, which didn’t come across, is that I don’t feel a lack of something not being in a relationship… I don’t feel like there is… an emotional void to be filled…”

Jennifer also spoke about the gender wage gap, explaining she wrote her essay on the subject after she saw the pay difference following the Sony Hack and decided she had to do something about it:

“When the Sony Hack happened and I saw the difference in pay, I spoke out because I knew what led to that. I knew that there was no one to blame but myself. It wasn’t Sony’s fault. It was what I had done, it was… my own mentality… We almost put this gender bias on ourselves. I feel awkward negotiating, I feel uncomfortable asking for more money, I don’t want to seem like a brat. I don’t want to seem like all these things that are only words that are used for women …”
