Jennifer Lawrence: 14 Things You Didn’t Know About The Knicker-Flashing, ‘Kardashian-Hating’ Oscar Winner

Jennifer Lawrence woke up the morning after her Oscars Best Actress win as possibly the most talked about woman on Earth, winning over fans with a combination of supreme acting talent, down-to-Earth behaviour and general likeable klutziness.

But who is the real Jennifer Lawrence? Here’s 14 things about Hollywood’s biggest female star that you may not know to help you find out.

1. The squirrel she cut open in her previous Oscar nominated role, Winter’s Bone, it was real!

2. Jen throws her farts at people, something she got from her brothers.

“As soon as somebody farts around me, I think it’s hilarious. This is something my brothers did that now the boys at work are obsessed with. You cup it, and then you throw it in someone’s face and say, ‘Take a bite out of that cheeseburger!” She told Entertainment Weekly.

3. One of her first acting breaks came in a promo for MTV’s spoilt teenager fest My Super Sweet Sixteen. As you can see here, Jen’s come a long way.

4. She auditioned to play Bella in Twilight but lost out to Kristen Stewart.

5. Jen likes a drink, as she showed at this year’s ceremony and even has her own hangover cure: Philly chese steak, telling EW: “The only cure for a hangover. In more literal terms: finely shredded meat with a hot cheesy sauce (quite often Cheese Whiz if it’s legit from Philly) on a hoagie roll. Served with a pickle. Heaven.”

6. Lawrence has a caring side, serving as an assistant nurse in a children’s day camp before becoming a star.

7. Jen’s stumble at the awards wasn’t the first time she’s proved herself to be quite the klutz, accidentally kicking Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson in the head of the set of the first movie, and reportedly falling over on stage when filming Catching Fire, with Georgia website Peachyscoop reporting Jen, “fell on stage and flashed the audience her underwear.”

8. James Franco aside, Jen hasn’t always been a fan of actors her own age, telling W Magazine: “Where are the Robert Redfords and Paul Newmans of my age group? I love James Franco, but where’s the next James Franco? Where are the hunks who can act?”

9. Jen is best pals with rocker and Hunger Games co-star Lenny Kravitz, having known him before filming. She’s also best pals with Lenny’s daughter Zoe Kravitz telling Good Morning America that they are like, “Beavis and Butthead”.

10. At just 22, Jen is the second youngest woman to win the Best Actress Oscar, behind Children of a Lesser God’s Marlee Matlin, who was 21 when she won in 1986.

11. She’s no fan of the Kardashians.

“I was watching the Kardashian girl getting divorced and that’s a tragedy for anyone. But they’re using it for entertainment, and we’re watching it. The books hold up a terrible kind of mirror: This is what our society could be like if we became desensitized to trauma and to each other’s pain,” the Silver Linings Playbook star told Parade.

12.. At High School Jen was voted “most talkative”.

13 . She’s got a thing for Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper, at least where making movies is concerned, teaming up with him in new western Serenam and signing up alongside the star and SLP director David O. Russell for his new untitled project.

14.  Despite now arguably being the world’s best actress, she’s never taken an acting class, “I never did theatre or took classes, which I think has helped me. I just had instincts and they were right,” the star told Canada’s The Globe and Mail.
