85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Channing Tatum and his gorgeous wife Jenna Dewan Tatum recently welcomed their first child Everly. Jenna has now commented on how she maintained her figure and bounced back to her natural size following the birth. She reveals that when she found out she was pregnant, her trainer helped her to put together a custom training session to target the areas she hoped to keep in check during the pregnancy. She spoke on her adapted routine:

”The second I found out I was pregnant, I called [my trainer]Jen Johnson. We found areas we wanted to target: arms and legs. I wanted to keep the muscles alive. Plus, I felt so much better. Working out kept me sane. I would feel a burst of energy and all my hormones would regulate.”

Speaking on staying fit at the very end of her pregnancy, Jenna reveals that she would lap the city and did her best to continue working out without pushing herself too hard. She even admits to trying out some old wives tales when she wanted the baby to come:

”It was tough doing anything strenuous, so I did yoga and a lot of walking. I must have walked the city four times over! I’m sure people thought I was crazy – I’d be walking my dogs on Hampstead Heath park, I’d grab a tree and do 10 squats. By the end I was so ready for her to come out. I was reading old wives tales and eating spicy food and pineapple.”

Jenna also got some top advice from her doula who encouraged her to fit in some exercise while watching over the newborn:

”My doula [childbirth assistant] gave me the best tip: When I’m rocking Everly to sleep, I do lunges across the nursery, squats or calf raises. Suddenly 45 minutes have gone by, she’s asleep and I got a little workout!”
