Jamie Foxx Says ‘Black People Are The Most Talented In The World’

He’s no stranger to controversy, but Jamie Foxx’s latest remarks have really got people talking.

The 45-year-old actor has enraged members of the public after stating that “black people are the most talented in the world.”

The ‘Django Unchained’ star made the remark at the 44th annual NAACP Image Awards on February 1 after he won the Entertainer of the Year award.

“Black people are the most talented people in the world,” he began his speech with.

“I, it’s, I can’t explain it. You can’t sit in this room and not watch Gladys Knight sing and go like, ‘Golly, what in the world?'”

However, many conservative critics have interpreted the remark as a racist one, with writer Noel Sheppard describing it as “really stupid.”

“Can you imagine the heat a white actor would get if he said at a nationally televised awards ceremony, ‘White people are the most talented people in the world?’ Probably be the end of his or her career,” he wrote.

Speaking about his latest role in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained,’ Foxx yet again caused a bit of a stir when speaking about the racial elements of the movie and the fact that it focuses heavily on black slavery.

During an appearance on Saturday Night Live, Foxx joked that he plays a freed slave who kills “all the white people in the movie…How great is that?”

In another interview he said that “every single thing in my life is built around race,” and added that black people are “always sensitive” about the issue.
