James Franco Defends Intimate Instagram Antics, Says He ‘Isn’t Exposing Himself’

James Franco has hit headlines recently because of his behaviour on Instagram, with him also sharing a rather intimate snap of himself in bed with Pretty Little Liars actor Keegan Allen this week, but Franco has now hit back at claims suggesting that he is in the wrong at all, saying that the whole reason behind taking a selfie is to get people talking.

James recently caused chaos after screengrabs showing him chatting up a 17-year-old girl on the social networking site surfaced online and he has since shared some images that some people may deem as inappropriate.

However, according to the Associated Press, Franco said in a new interview that he is simply getting used to the selfie craze like everybody else out there.

“It’s not like I’m exposing myself or anything,” he said in the interview yesterday.

The actor then went on to call selfies and Instagram a phenomena “that I am just playing around with like everybody else to see what kind of reaction it evokes.”

Franco then said when he takes pictures of himself: “It’s almost like it’s connected to you,” and that by putting “that intimate space out there it’s kind of this new thing that we’re all getting used to.”

And the reaction to his selfie taking isn’t the only thing that has got James talking recently, with him also blasting a theatre critic a “little b**ch” because she gave the star a bad Of Mice And Men review.

Check out the Instagram post, that has since been deleted, below.
