Idris Elba Doesn’t Want to Live in L.A. or Have Hollywood Friends

The actor candidly admits he doesn’t want to be a part of it and doesn’t even have celebrity friends. Idris reveals that he has kept the same friends since rising to stardom and is just focused on his children now:

“I’m not into the whole fame thing. I don’t have celebrity friends. I have the same ones I had from when I was a kid and for me, it’s about my family, it’s about my kids, what is best for them. I love the UK, grew up in East London and I love it there. That’s where my roots will always be.”

Idris doesn’t want to move to Los Angeles and is keen to keep his family away from the Hollywood lifestyle because it isn’t something he wants for them. He explained that he is happy to spend time in L.A. if he’s working, but he isn’t thinking about a permanent move:

“I won’t be moving out here. I don’t want to get into all of that. I don’t want my family growing up here. That isn’t me, it just isn’t. I rented a place on my own in North Hollywood, but the time I spent here was on my own. I’m only here for a few days. For me, it’s work. I’m very happy I’m here but I want to be back at home with my family. I’m in and out on British Airways. I’m going first class but I’d be just as happy not to.”
