Hallmark To Paris Hilton: ‘You’re A Publicity Seeker!’

Hallmark Cards have launched a barbed attack on Paris Hilton in response to the lawsuit she launched against the company in September, branding her a publicity seeker.

The socialite is suing Hallmark – citing invasion of privacy and misappropriating her image – for allegedly using her likeness and trademarked ‘That’s hot’ phrase in without her permission.

Now Hallmark bosses are defending their right to parody Hilton’s image because she spends most of her time deliberately courtsing publicity.

In a motion to dismiss the case, they state: “Hilton has become a household name, based in large part on her efforts to draw attention to herself.

“Having done so, she has subjected herself to public scrutiny and the parodist’s pen.

“The First Amendment does not allow her to respond by welcoming the fawning and flattering, but silencing the critical and comical.”

Don’t mess with Hallmark!
