Gus Van Sant To Direct Fifty Shades Of Grey Film? James Franco Lets Slip Secret

Good Will Hunting director could be the man behind the most anticipated film of the decade!

With speculation mounting over the film adaptation of EL James’ Fifty Shades of Grey has James Franco let slip the director in charge of the movie?

Franco was speaking to the Sunday Times at the Sundance Festival this week when he revealed that he was under the impression that director Gus Van Sant was on board for the anticipated project, and if he has signed up James would on board too!

“I heard Gus [Van Sant] might direct it. If he directed it, I’d do it. It sounds interesting,”

Van Sant is the man behind hit films like ‘Good Will Hunting‘ and ‘Milk’ with his most recent film being ‘Promised Land‘ starring Matt Damon.

The director is no stranger to controversal subject matter with his movies ‘My Own Private Idaho’ and ‘Drugstore Cowboy’. Meanwhile Franco also has ties to risque projects. He produced the BDSM documentary ‘Kink’ as well as playing the role of Hugh Hefner in the forthcoming porn biopic ‘Lovelace’.

A further clue as to Vna Sant’s involvement is that the production company behind Promised Land is the same one being used on the Fifty Shades film.

Meanwhile the rumours continue as to who will be cast in the now iconic roles of Ana and Christian.

Mila Kunis told The Sun about a prospective role this week, teasing: “There are times when you just want to do something fun and different, because you’re going to have a good time doing it.”

We’ve rounded up the big contenders for the cast right here.
