George Clooney Labels Famous Twitter Users as Morons!

BAFTA Los Angeles 2013 Britannia Awards Presented by BBC America - Arrivals

George Clooney is at a special place in his career where he can get away with being as candid as he wants without being called out for it. He’s not afraid to do it either! The actor has hit out at celebrities who use twitter, simply calling them a bunch of morons and he thinks the whole practice is just “stupid”. He commented:

“I think anyone who is famous is a moron if they’re on Twitter. It’s just stupid.”

On the idea of fame and self promotion, George says that people can be very pushy when they see the light at the end of the tunnel and believe fame in on their doorstep because they’ll do anything to get a piece of it. He believes it can be an aggressive state and he tries to remain calm around it:

“Not that I’m comparing myself to Clark Gable or whoever but they couldn’t survive in this environment. They’d punch the s–t out of some people. It requires a kind of Zen quality. There’s a funny thing about fame. The truth is you run as fast as you can towards it because it’s everything you want. Not just the fame but what it represents, meaning work, meaning opportunity. And then you get there and it’s shocking how immediately you become enveloped in this world that is incredibly restricting.”

He admits that he is surprised to be single again, but on the other hand, he finds much of his life to be surprising:

“I am surprised, yeah. But I’m surprised by almost everything that’s happened in my life. I’m surprised I don’t live in Kentucky and sell insurance, too. I mean, I really am.”

George says he’s just not interested in getting married again:

“I haven’t had aspirations in that way, ever. I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it. I was quoted as saying I’ll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I’ve never talked about it since.
