George Clooney ‘feels better’ about becoming a first-time dad at 56 to twins because of this

George Clooney and his wife Amal are excited to become parents to twins in June this year.

The couple, who tied the knot in Venice in 2014, are set to welcome a boy and a girl later this year and he admitted he feels a little better about becoming an older father now he’s got some inspiration.

Speaking about the pregnancy for the first time, George said: “We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure. We’ve embraced it with arms wide open.”

The actor, who was speaking on Rencontres de Cinema, revealed that his friends were having a laugh at his expense about becoming an older dad.

Of breaking the news to his pals, George said: “There was, like, a table of eight guys, and all their kids are away in college, and they’re all sitting there being very supportive, telling me it’s great and that I’m gonna love it.

“Then it got really quiet, and they all just started making baby crying noises, and the whole table just busted up laughing.

“It’s going to change a lot of things, but, you know, that’s life.”

George pointed to some fellow older fathers for inspiration, as he pointed to 89-year-old Jean-Paul Belmondo, who became a father for the second time at the age of 70 in 2003.

“So, I’m feeling a little better about being 56 by the time [the twins come],” he laughed.

While George has only just confirmed the baby news, his proud mum and grandma-to-be has spoken excitedly about the new additions to the family.

“We are extremely happy for George and Amal, and I cannot imagine two people who would be better parents,” she told Us Weekly.
