Game Of Thrones Star Natalie Dormer Shaves Off Her Hair For The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
Mockingjay’s Cressida is a Capitol rebel and Natalie Dormer nailed the look, shaving half her head in anticipation for the role.
“It’s been hidden for 3 months. It happened back in October. I was, you know, waiting for the right moment,” Natalie told Entertainment Weekly at the SAG Awards on Jan. 18.
The actress pulled her remaining hair to the right side to accentuate the look on the red carpet.

She had never shaved her hair before this but may have gotten a little encouragement from her boyfriend.
“My man has his head shaved, so… I’d rub it and think, ‘This is gonna be me!’” she said.
Lionsgate confirmed in August that the Game of Thrones’ star would join the Hunger Games’ franchise for Mockingjay: Parts 1 and 2.
In Mockingjay, Cressida is described as having “a shaved head tattooed with green vines,” but Natalie didn’t go full cue ball for her part.
“Francis Lawrence, the director of Mockingjay, and I discussed it and I took the job on the premise that I would possibly [have to] shave my whole head. I’m actually really pleased that we went halfway because I think it’s more the Capitol,” Natalie told EW. “She comes from the Capitol, so she’s got a stylized thing going on and now she’s turned rebel. I think it’s right for the character.”
Natalie, who wears a wig for her role as Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, had a little trouble getting used to her new ‘do off camera.
“It was a bit weird lying in bed for the first few nights. [One] side feels normal, [the other] side doesn’t feel so normal against the pillow,” she said. ”[And] hats fit differently.”
Natalie definitely wasn’t playing games of any sort with this haircut.
