Frozen Soundtrack Remains At Number One On Billboard 200 Chart For 10th Week

Frozen has trumped competition once again with the Disney soundtrack remaining at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart for a 10th week, certifying its position as one of the most successful animated LPs in history.

The soundtrack, which features songs from the $1 billion-grossing film, is showing no signs of slowing down after claiming its10th non-consecutive week at number one on the US chart, selling an additional 133,000 copies in the last week.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Frozen has now sold more than 2.1 million copies to date and matches The Lion King’s record in 1994 for the most weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 with an animated film soundtrack.

Frozen is still so popular that a number parodies and covers of the hit song ‘Let It Go’ have been created including a young girl singing a rendition of the Idina Menzel ballad without noticing that her father was photo bombing the video while another clip features Anna asking Breaking Bad’s Jesse if he wants to build a snowman.

Despite its lengthy stint at the top, Frozen is still miles ahead of its nearest competition with Pharrell Williams’ latest album ‘G I R L’ at number two after selling a further 29,000 copies in the last seven days.

Impressively, 5 Seconds of Summer are at number three with their debut EP ‘She Looks So Perfect which has shifted 26,000 copies, dropping down one place after challenging Frozen for the top spot last week.
