Emma Watson Heading Back To Brown University To Complete Degree

Emma Watson might be busy promoting two movies, This Is The End and Bling Ring, but the actress has admitted she’ll be stepping away from acting for a while to return to Brown University to continue her studies.

The 23-year-old, who recently wowed at the Cannes Film Festival with her stylish and chic fashion choices, has revealed in a new interview that she’ll be heading back to the Ivy League university to finish off the English degree she put on hold in 2011, following claims of bullying.

“I really like the fact that it has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements,” she told Rookiemag.com.

“Really, I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on Potter when I was 9 or 10 and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum.”

“I did an independent study on the psychology and philosophy of how and why we fall in love, which was awesome,” she added.

Emma has been hitting the red carpet this week to promote new movie Bling Ring. The Sofia Coppola directed film takes on the celeb-obsessed culture of Hollywood, following a group of wannabes who stole from the stars they so worshiped.

Based on real events, the group robbed the likes of Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson and Orlando Bloom, amassing three million dollars worth of luxury items.

Speaking of working with Coppola the Harry Potter babe admitted it was a dream come true.

She said: “It was a real dream of mine. I came to the part in a very roundabout way: I told my agent how much I loved Sofia’s work, and she’s like, ‘You should meet with her producer and [unofficial] casting director, Fred Roos,’ and I did, and we got on really well, and that led to meeting Sofia, and she told me she was working on a project with young people in it.”
